Third times a charm?

Good Morning! We are over midway through the week. I mentioned earlier this week about leaving my current job and next Monday I’ll be starting on my next opportunity. I wanted to share a few more details about that and my background/experience since moving to Massachusetts from Maryland.

I am from Maryland and had lived there all 29 years of my life. The opportunity to move to Massachusetts presented itself and based on where I was in my life I decided it was the right time. I applied for a lot of opportunities (mostly in banking). I worked for the same company in Maryland for over 10 years. I can only say absolutely great things about my experience but unfortunately they were not as far north as MA to be able to transfer. Eventually I reached out to my step-mom who introduced me to a contact at a company that she worked for previously. Which leads me to:

Job #1

This was a sales job. I have sales experience but in a different capacity. I was spending the majority of my time in New Hampshire and prior to this job I had never been to New Hampshire so it was nice to add another state to my list. However, it was at least an hour drive daily. The fruits of my labor didn’t feel like they were converting and I found myself constantly thinking about the job. I was becoming more and more anxious and broke down a few times. It didn’t take me long to realize this wasn’t the right opportunity for me. I started applying for Executive Assistant jobs and that leads me to:

Job #2

I became an Executive Assistant at an IT company. I previously have no real IT knowledge but I did have administrative experience. I met a lot of great people. Actually a couple of them were who we spent 4th of July with. I’d been there a little over a month when opportunity number three reached out to me to ask if I would be interested in learning more about the opportunity. I was interested and from there one conversation led to the next and I was presented with an amazing opportunity. That takes me to:

Job #3

In this job I will be utilizing my banking background. This job found me and I am a big believer in things happening for a reason. I am truly excited about how things have worked out and look forward to getting started on Monday and seeing what my future holds.

Coming from working for the same company for over 10 years and having three new jobs in one year is a whole other ball game for me. With that being said so is packing up and moving to a whole other state. What was I searching for all along? Living. You have to live this life and do what’s best for you. You can’t live for what others think you should be doing. Life goes by too fast. I encourage you to follow your dreams and never close any doors that might open for you!
